HOW DO WE START THE BALL ROLLING?

Call 0121 233 2413 and ask to be put through to Envirometal Sales. We will then arrange for an appointment with a sales rep to ascertain your needs and discuss options.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?

Following the visit by the sales representative, a quotation to handle your wastes will be sent to you. According to your specific requirements and after acceptance of the quotation we will schedule regular collections. Your first collection will need to be pre-notified to the Environment Agency (by us) four days before we can make an initial collection. You will then be added to our carriers round.

ARE BETTS ENVIROMETAL LICENSED?

As you can see from the resources section, we are comprehensively licensed in all aspects of our business, whether it be our staff, our vehicles or our processes.

WILL WE BE TIED TO A CONTRACT?

We do ask that all of our customers are on short-term contracts in order to ensure that our service is efficient and to help with environmental compliance. It is also a legal requirement that all companies producing waste have an authorised waste management company under contract to them. Where we install kit, we do insist on a contract, which will vary according to the financial nature of the deal we do.

WHAT PAPERWORK DO I NEED TO DO?

Nothing. We do it all for you, but you will need to sign a copy of the consignment notes that will be filled in by our office.

WHAT TO DO WITH COPIES OF PAPERWORK?

The Environment Agency insist that you keep your copy of S62 for a minimum of three years.

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE IN ORDER FOR COLLECTIONS TO BE BOOKED?

The onus is on the producer of wastes (our customers) to store their wastes correctly and to make sure they are disposed of via a licensed carrier and treatment company (us). It is also imperative that the exact volumes and types of wastes that are due to be collected are communicated accurately to our scheduling officer, so that we can ensure the paperwork is compliant with all Haz-chem, transportation and treatment legislation.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I DO NOT PROVIDE THE CORRECT INFORMATION?

Failure to do this may result in a surcharge being levied upon our customers (see terms and conditions), or the goods simply not being able to be collected. Where goods have been collected but are not as labelled or communicated, they may be returned to the customer at the cost of transportation.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF IT IS NOT AS LABELLED OR STORED CORRECTLY?

The person taking them away will either take them and charge you an additional fee, or may refuse to take the waste away if we are not legally allowed to do so. In this instance you will be invoiced for our minimum collection charge which is £50. The reason for this is quite simply that we have to inform the Environment Agency of all wastes that we are collecting from your premises. If this information is not accurate it may be that the agency penalise both you and ourselves. Our engineers always carry supplies of labels free of charge.

WHAT IF I NEED ADVICE?

We are always available on the end of the phone. If you call out of office hours we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please contact us.

HOW DO I OPEN AN ACCOUNT?

Our sales representative will organise this with you at the visit or you can simply do it over the telephone. The easiest way is to book an appointment with a sales representative who will come and do it face to face with you.

WHY SHOULD I CHANGE TO BETTS WHEN WHAT I DO ALREADY WORKS AND I AM UNDER CONTRACT?

Because we offer a more efficient, personal and professional service. Because we can offer the security of a company that has succeeded for a quarter of a millennium. Because we are small enough to be flexible yet large enough to be a total solution. If you are under contract, we can wait!

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO I HAVE TO GIVE FOR A WASTE COLLECTION?

For existing customers we will try to arrange same day if urgent. We try to schedule our carriers round a week in advance if possible. For new customers we need four day’s to pre-notify the environment agency. We will then arrange a follow up call by a sales representative to organise a contract.

HOW DO I PAY?

All invoices are payable 30 days after the end of the month in which you were invoiced.

HOW DO I CANCEL A COLLECTION AND IS THERE A CHARGE?

Due to a carrier’s round being scheduled for 72 hours and vehicles being booked, we have to charge our £50 minimum order if a collection is cancelled within 48 hours of the agreed time. Otherwise there is no charge for cancelling a collection and our scheduling officer will have called to confirm the week before.
