CONTRACTS
We believe our service, pride and attention to detail encourage our
customers to remain loyal. Therefore we do not ask for long period
contracts to be signed. However, it is a legal obligation for all companies
to have a licensed waste management company under contract (epa 1990),
and so to protect both ourselves and our customers we insist that every
customer signs a short one year contract. At the end of this period,
contracts will be automatically renewed to ease administration.
The contract details our agreed service provisions to our customers, giving them the peace of mind to concentrate on their core business. The points covered in our contracts will include, but are
not limited to:
- Charge rates and returns
- Duration
- Frequency of collections
- Specific servicing and equipment requirements
- Volumes for collection
- Terms of settlement
PAPERWORK & SCHEDULING
Before every collection from every customer, our
scheduling officer will call you to confirm the
wastes that are due for collection. We will then
complete all of the necessary paperwork on your
behalf including consignment notes for the
transportation of your wastes, which will be
purchased from the Environment Agency for you.
Upon collection of your wastes, our driver will
give you a copy of the consignment note for you
to file in accordance with your legal obligations
(as outlined in our ‘Waste Guide for Customers’).
There is a small fee for this service.
It is very important that accurate weights and
types of waste are communicated prior to
collection to ensure a smooth service.
CONTAINERS & LABELS
We will provide, in the majority of cases, all the
necessary labels and containers free of charge,
for our customers to store their wastes neatly
and correctly. All of these containers are
designed to comply with Health and Safety
regulations, whilst meeting our customers
specialist storage requirements.
The containers we supply may have been
previously used and whilst they will have been
cleaned to meet all legal requirements, if
appearance is of paramount importance, then
new containers will be provided at cost.
We provide standard sizes of containers. Special requirements can
be catered for, but these may incur extra costs.
ENVIRONMENTAL AUDITS & CERTIFICATES
As part of our service we offer one of our
professional site engineers or trained sales
representatives to visit and carry out a full
environmental audit of your property. This
ensures any ‘special’ wastes are identified and a
solution to storing and disposing of them
correctly can be arranged.
Upon completion of this audit we will supply
you with a certificate that states that we are
disposing of all of your ‘special’ and ‘controlled’
wastes in compliance with all relevant laws.
This certificate will be dated for a one year
period, coinciding with your contract, and it will
give your senior management confidence and
security in their legal obligations. This is a free
service and is not a compulsory requirement of
a contract.
TAILORED PROGRAMMES AND SERVICE
Betts Envirometal understand that everyone is different, and we act as your advisor.
Therefore our service to you is completely tailored to your needs. You decide on the
regularity of collection, the storage that best suits you and how best you would like us
to communicate with you. We are flexible, personal and professional, and will do
anything possible to ensure we maintain a seamless service.
SELF BILLING AND NORMAL INVOICES
Depending upon the balance owing at the end of each transaction, we will issue either
a normal or a self-billing invoice. These can occasionally cause confusion and are
explained below (Click to view the larger version):

THE COSTS
Depending on volumes and regularity of collections, our charges for various types of
wastes may vary. Our sales representatives will be only too happy to discuss a quotation
with you either over the telephone or in person. Please contact us.
